Every month, the Bridge Center will invite a speaker to participate in a monthly speaker series related to ethical issues in biomedical research.
This month, Dr. Nebeker and Kumar discussed collecting accelerometry data from wrist-worn devices and the potential re-identification risks for research participants. Using case studies, they explored how raw data can be traced to individuals, its privacy implications, and strategies to mitigate risks, emphasizing the importance of safeguarding participant privacy in digital health research.
