Dr. Lucila Ohno-Machado (Bridge Center) and Dr. Xiaoqian Qiang (Bridge Center and CHoRUS), along with Jaideep Vaidya (Rutgers University) received the IEEE Innovation in Societal Infrastructure Award. In announcing the award, IEEE stated: “Vaidya, Ohno-Machado, and Jiang are recognized for leadership in designing and deploying privacy-preserving distributed clinical research infrastructures that enable secure, large-scale collaboration using health data.”
As stated by IEEE this award is presented: “For significant technological achievements and contributions to the establishment, development, and proliferation of innovative societal infrastructure systems through the application of information technology with an emphasis on distributed computing systems”
