About Bridge2AI
Mission & Vision
- Our Mission
Bridge2AI aims to propel biomedical research into a new era of ethical, inclusive, and data-driven discovery. We empower researchers, clinicians, and communities to collaboratively generate high-quality, ethically sourced datasets that reflect the diversity of the human experience.
- Our Vision
A future where artificial intelligence (AI) in biomedicine is powered by data that is representative, trustworthy, and ready for use in advancing health outcomes equitably across all populations.
Grand Challenges
Bridge2AI’s Grand Challenges are ambitious, collaborative efforts to generate high-quality biomedical and behavioral datasets ready for ethical, inclusive, and impactful AI development.
Each Grand Challenge focuses on creating AI-ready data that is FAIR—Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, and Reusable—and that upholds the highest standards for diversity, equity, and ethics. Together, these efforts are laying the groundwork for AI tools that can tackle some of the most complex questions in human health, from lifelong wellness to personalized clinical decision-making.
In addition to generating new datasets, each Grand Challenge develops tools, training materials, and best practices that support multidisciplinary collaboration and ethical data generation across the scientific community.
- Precision Public Health
Harnessing AI to understand how social, environmental, and structural factors influence health outcomes across diverse populations.
- Functional Genomics
Generating rich, annotated datasets that help decode how genes and molecular pathways influence disease risk and treatment response.
- AI/ML for Clinical Care
Creating ethically sourced clinical datasets to advance the development of trustworthy AI tools that support real-world decision-making at the bedside.
- Salutogenesis
Exploring the drivers of health and well-being—rather than disease—through longitudinal, person-centered data designed to capture the full spectrum of human experience.
Bridge Center
The Bridge Center serves as the coordinating hub for all Bridge2AI activities. We support Data Generation Projects and the broader AI research community by:
- Providing training and resources to build team science and responsible AI skills
- Offering centralized tools and shared infrastructure
- Facilitating cross-project collaboration and learning
- Ensuring harmonization across datasets, practices, and goals
Together, we’re building a foundation for biomedical AI that is robust, equitable, and ready to scale.
